Part-Time Team Member
Now hiring for Part-Time serving positions at Steady Flow Growler House. The positions are part time (10-20 hrs/wk) with base pay (DOE) plus tips and room for growth. Experience, enthusiasm, hardworking, customer service oriented and able to work well with a team are all required skills. We are a small business and strive to have a fun environment that provides outstanding customer service.
-Ensure customers have a pleasant experience from the moment they walk in the door.
-Facilitate customers finding new and exciting craft cider, beer or wine to expand their palates.
-Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
-Stock, display, and arrange merchandise for purchase.
-Deliver service, food and beverages to the customers as per operating procedures outlined.
-Drive and increase sales by using up-selling techniques and turn no-sales into sales for customers unsure of the products.
-Promote customer loyalty program.
-Ring up sales, returns, discounts, payment methods in the POS and count cash in an effective and correct manner.
-Demonstrate adherence to local alcohol sales regulations.
-Embrace beer knowledge and sharing of that knowledge with the customers.
-Effectively and appropriately identify, communicate and provide assistance with operations as needed without being directed.
-Manage awkward situations when necessary such as checking IDs, cutting off intoxicated customers and refusing service to customers who have had too much or shouldn't be allowed in due to their intoxicated nature.
-Use correct lifting procedures.
-Maintain a professional appearance.
-MAST-Class 12 permit (over 21) and Food Handler's Card (or obtainment within 14 days of hire)
-Present a certified Beer Steward Certificate from a Cicerone program or from the MBAA at time of hire or within 120 days of hiring.
-Works well within a team environment with 100% commitment to the teamwork approach.
-Positive, upbeat and outgoing personality
-High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-Minimum 2 years' experience in food/beverage with knowledge of craft beer, cider and wine.
-Minimum 1 year experience with an electronic POS
-Ability to remain calm and professional in high pressured and fast paced environments
-Ability to follow instructions and the set operating procedures.
-Have the physical strength to move 150-180 pound kegs and operate the keg jockey during keg changes.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Strong problem solving abilities.
